East and South Tyrol 14.10.-23.10.20

We spend the next 10 days in San Candido, Lienz, Bressanone and Merano, marveling at the Dolomites and strolling through the pretty little towns.

The road to the Auronzo Hut, located at 2330m, is often closed due to snowfall, filming or advertising. We are lucky: the road is open and free of snow. From there we trudge through the snow to the 'beautiful side' of the Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen). It is worth it not only because of the peaks, the whole mountain panorama is great.

We also enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Dolomites from the Helm and Plose. Both are also beautiful ski areas, isolated cable cars and huts just still in operation.

Auf dem Weg zur Seiser Alm machen wir einen kurzen Spaziergang durch Kastelruth.

The Alpe di Siusi is the largest high alpine pasture in Europe and offers many hiking trails always with a view of the Dolomites. For us, the alp is a bit too big with buildings that do not always flatter the landscape.

The small town of Lienz in East Tyrol with the Bruck Castle invites you to stroll, store and stop for a bite to eat in its small streets and winding squares.

The two South Tyrolean cities of Bressanone and Merano are always worth a visit.

Bressanone with the large cathedral, the arcades and the colorful house facades is particularly pretty.

Now it's off to Switzerland for 1-2 weeks for a service on man and technology. Depending on the Corona situation, we will continue to Madeira at the beginning of November (or not at all if Switzerland is suddenly on the red list in all of Europe).

Our next blog is expected in December. We are curious about which country it will tell the stories of.
